Targu Mures Plant Self-Consumption Project, Romania
- Location: Targu Mures, Romania
- Configuration: 6*E-MATE 125-261-L
- Capacity: 1,567.5 kWh
- Application: Self-Consumption
- Year: 2026
Project Overview
At a production site in Targu Mures, Romania, the plant had energy to use but needed a way to store it until it was needed. That defined the brief: an energy storage solution sized for an industrial site, installed on-site, and used directly by the plant.

The Storage Solution
Six EENOVANCE E-MATE 125-261-L cabinets now operate at the site, providing a combined storage capacity of 1,567.5 kWh. Installed as one coordinated system rather than six separate units, the cabinets are arranged in two rows of three on a prepared concrete base and connected in parallel, operating as a single installation.
The system can also be scaled by adding cabinets in parallel, with up to ten cabinets supported on the AC side. The six-cabinet installation at Targu Mures therefore uses the same platform designed to scale with larger project requirements.

Each cabinet houses five battery packs built with LFP 3.2 V / 314 Ah cells, providing a rated capacity of 261.25 kWh per cabinet. The batteries use liquid cooling and are housed in an IP55-rated outdoor enclosure. The system is rated for 8,000 cycles at 400 V ±15%, 50/60 Hz, and a 0.25C rate.
Safety features include aerosol fire suppression and combustible-gas detection inside the enclosure. The system has been tested to UL 9540A at the cell, pack, and cabinet levels. The project documentation also lists UN 38.3, EN 62477-1, EN IEC 61000-6-2 / -6-4, IEC 62619, UL 9540A, and PGS 37 under its compliance specifications.
Built for Self-Consumption
The installation has one clear purpose: self-consumption. Energy is stored on-site and used by the plant itself, reducing the need to draw energy from the grid when it is needed.
For an industrial site, this is where energy storage becomes practical: storing energy on-site and making it available when the plant needs it.
